INTRODUCTION
Hello. I'm Henry,
a professional dog trainer who believes that the dog is never at fault and should not be blamed for what's on the other end of the leash. That's why I train both ends of the leash. I want all of my dog owning clients to become dog trainers, and accomplishing that is often more difficult than training the dog. I expect my clients to spend at least as many hours training their dog as I do, hopefully more. This reinforces the things I have taught the dog and will cut training time in half. And after all, what good is it if the dog will respond to me but not to its owner.

Which is one reason why I believe so strongly that a dog is best trained in its home--with its family--rather than away from home as in, say a training camp. Dogs are very situational. Owners are often surprised that after they teach their dog a performance in the house, they take the dog outside and it is as if the dog had never learned the performance at all.

Please understand that I do not subscribe to the Wolf Pack syndrome of training dogs, a method that is currently so popular, particularly on TV dog training shows. Your dog is not a wolf, and has not been one for 15,000 years.
